Tebowing my Stenciled Wall

Did anyone watch the incredible Bronco game?  For all of my out of state readers and non-Bronco fans, sorry, I have to mention the MILE HIGH MAGIC (or Tebow Magic) that is finally surrounding our Blue and Orange team!!! YAYAYAY!!! Ok, ok, back to the rest of weekend....Hazel and I did a little baking and my girlfriend Ashlee had a beautiful bachelorette party.  Over all, it was an eventful weekend.

My dining room stenciled wall looks AMAZING, if I have to say so myself. I was so nervous watching the Bronco game, Tebow gave me the extra JOLT of energy to finish my wall!  I'll give you my step by step process of stenciling a wall or walls.  It actually looks like wall paper!!!!

Supplies~template, cardboard, pencil, left-over wall paint, a small amount of white paint, a small paint brush (the size you want your lines to be, so you can paint a line in one stroke).

1.  Decide what wall you would like to stencil.  I decided not to stencil a whole room, but I think it would look incredible if you decided to stencil all walls in a room.  I downloaded the stencil template here. I printed the template out on regular paper and then transferred the template to a thick piece of card board.

2.  Start tracing the template onto the wall, starting at the top and working your way down.  Making sure it's even and not crooked.  If you mess up, don't worry, keep tracing, you can fix it when you start paint over the stencil.

3.  Paint, paint and paint.  Paint inside the lines. not on top of the lines.  Explained in more depth here.  This was a lengthily process and I did it over a couple of days. If you decided to do that, wrap your wet paint brush and cup of paint up with cling wrap to keep them from drying out.

4.  Step back and enjoy!  One piece of advice, don't sweat the imperfections!!!  It's what gives it a little character and honestly you can't tell unless your up close and looking.

YAY, it's done!  Now I can get my mess cleaned up and enjoy my dining room!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
