The Tale of an Ugly Bathroom

I know I promised a Valentines Day project, but my hot glue gun is MIA.   I'm actually pretty upset about the fact, but I have an idea where it is.... it's on vacation!  So, hopefully tomorrow I'll be back with that project.  Until then, I thought that I would start the saga of the Ugly Bathroom.....

Our bathroom is in need of a major overhaul, starting with paint, new fixtures, a disguising mechanism (you'll see what I mean), and personality!

Don-Don-Donnnnn

Yikes, yes this is my bathroom!  This is reality!  Despite the periwinkle blue and lovely wood medicine cabinet, it has potential of being something great.

The one problem that I continue to face is this......

The bathroom is home to the hot water heater and furnace and is covered in this lovely window shade.  I haven't quite figured out what to do with this eye sore, but I've been researching and trying to come up with any ideas!  I would love to hear your input!

The vanity is old and dull, but with a little paint and some new handles, I think it will look updated and fabulous!

The medicine cabinet is off centered and really doesn't help the lack of storage that we have in the bathroom, so it's coming down and will probably be replaced with shelving.  Although, these are just ideas.

So, after looking at this lovely mess, let's end with some much need beautifulness and color schemes.....

I know my bathroom will never be this big....but definitely has the potential to be this beautiful.  I'll be back with the progress, as I tackle this project.  I would love to hear your ideas on my huge eye sore (the cutout for the furnace and hot water heater).  Until tomorrow!

  1. What if you put up a canvas drape and used it a growth chart for Hazel? The canvas would be heavy sturdy enough so that it wouldn't flap around with any air movement. I have this picture in my head, but can't seem to find the words to put it in writing. Sorry!

  2. Why not put a closet door. Something big enough to cover the whole thing but accessible in case you need repairs to do:)
